Corcoran Gallery of Art Rooftop Tour

Join DCPL business member The Christman Company as they host a tour of the monumental skylight and roof project work at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, a 1897 Beaux Arts building designed by noted American architect Ernest Flagg.

See how the original leaking skylights are being replaced with new insulated glass that will reduce the solar load of the galleries by 60%. A complex coordination project, the museum must stay in operation during the removal and replacement of the skylights. In addition, copper and flat roofing is being replaced along with integral gutters, and all new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems will be installed.

November2009

End of Year Giving!!

Washington has more protected buildings, landscapes and archaeological sites than any other jurisdiction in the United States. But there is still more to do - development pressures, gaps in preservation legislation and misconceptions about the value of our historic resources combine to threaten this rich heritage.

Washington’s built heritage can be saved. Your support ensures continued advocacy, outreach and educational programs that encourage preservation and sensitive economic development throughout the District of Columbia.

This holiday season, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution or give the gift of membership to a friend. Click here to go to our donation site.
