Spring 2000

DCPL Receives Grant from Centex

The DC Preservation League gratefully acknowledges and announces the donation of $50,000 from CENTEX/SHG, LLC. The company has been in the commercial construction industry for more than 60 years and provides general contracting, at-risk construction management, design-build, and preconstruction services. Based in Dallas, Texas, and Fairfax, Virginia, Centexâs local projects with preservation components include the construction of the National Research Council building for the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., and the expansion and renovation of Washington Dulles International Airport. The donation will be used for general operating expenses and to support the 2000 citywide preservation conference being planned for the fall.
