655 New York Avenue Tour
January 17, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm
Join DC Preservation League on Thursday, January 17th for a tour of Douglas Development’s 655 New York Avenue project. The property is an assembly of 19 historic buildings on a triangle shaped block between New York Avenue, 7th and L Streets in Mt. Vernon Square. Upon completion, the new complex will feature office space and retail. The adaptive use project fuses historic buildings with new construction. Many of the preserved structures, such as an individual landmark and several contributing resources to the Mt. Vernon Square Historic District, were designated by DCPL.
The tour will be led by Drew Turner, a development manager at Douglas Development. Drew has played a crucial leadership role in the planning, design, entitlement, leasing, construction, and overall execution of over $750 million worth of development in just four years at Douglas Development. He frequently works with the DC Preservation League and the Historic Preservation Review Board to receive project approvals on complex preservation issues. In addition, Drew works closely with land use counsel to creatively address any potential zoning hurdles that may face a project.
Tickets cost $15 for DCPL members and $25 for the public.
