DC Inventory of Historic Sites
The DC Inventory of Historic Sites is the official list of historic properties maintained by the Government of the District of Columbia. These properties are deemed worthy of recognition and protection for their contribution to the cultural heritage of the city that is both the nation’s capital and home to more than a 600,000 residents.
Historical Eras and Themes
The thematic edition of the Inventory gives information about significant historic properties in the context of their time and place in the city’s history.
The alphabetical edition of the Inventory allows for quick reference if you know the name of a historic landmark or historic district. Consult the entire document or separate alphabetical sections.
