DC Virtual History is a pilot project supported by the DC Historic Preservation Office, in partnership with the DC Preservation League. This interactive blog is intended to celebrate and shed an accessible light on DC’s historic sites. With the click of a mouse you can explore the streets of DC and learn about its fascinating historic sites along the way.
As part of this pilot project, the virtual tours will showcase DC’s historic alleys. (Click here to learn more about the DC Historic Alley Buildings Survey) With over 270 alleys recorded in the District, these hidden treasures and their structures tell the story of DC’s past and offer vibrant urban spaces for today’s residents.
